We are pleased to announce that HIC has secured funding from Safer Care Victoria (SCV) to continue supporting Victorian metro, regional and rural health services in areas of consumer and community engagement. This financial year there will be four programs that you may be interested to apply for. These are:

  • Consumer Mentorship Program
  • Customised support packages
  • Consumer engagement Train the Trainer (TTT) Program
  • Pilot and review the CAC Evaluation Framework v1.0

Consumer Mentorship Program

We are inviting you to apply to implement a Consumer Mentorship Program where we will support you to match new consumer advisors/representatives with more experienced consumers in a mentorship relationship which is mutually beneficial.

Customised support packages

We invite you to apply for customised support to meet your requirements under the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standard 2: Partnering with consumers and Safer Care Victoria’s Partnering in healthcare framework.

Consumer engagement Train the Trainer (TTT) Program

We invite you to apply to our expanded Train the Trainer (TTT) program with the accompanying Guide and Toolkit. We are seeking three metro and three rural/regional health services to implement a program which consists of HIC training a member of the health service staff team who would then be equipped to train others in the organisation to ensure that your consumer engagement practice is sustainable.

Pilot and review the CAC Evaluation Framework v1.0

In response to the CoP members seeking a tool to evaluate the effectiveness of Community Advisory Committees (CACs), the initial CAC Evaluation Framework v1.0 was developed by an external evaluator and Health Issues Centre in collaboration with five health services in 2021/22. This financial year, SCV is funding HIC to pilot and review the Framework. We invite you to apply to pilot and review the evaluation Framework with your CAC.
